In the second episode of my latest tutorial series, we explore the Apple Developer Enterprise program and how you can handle in-app updates when self-hosting your organizations in-house iOS, watchOS and tvOS apps.
The Apple Developer Enterprise program allows your organization to skip the app submission and approval process and control access to your in-house apps. In this episode, we review the differences between Apple’s “Developer” and “Developer Enterprise” programs. We also discuss third-party Mobile Application Management services that will host your in-house apps for you, and things to consider when deciding between those services and self-hosting your apps. Finally, we address the missing “app update” feature normally provided by Apple’s App Store with a sample Xamarin.Forms solution that handles in-app updates.
